Fun adventure, definitely recommend going equipped, especially if it’s raining as there’s a few points with lakes you may need to jump and flowing water on steps. Stunning views at the top!
The climb up from Edale if you park there and go via Grindslow Knoll and over to Kinder Scout is fabulous and you can then loop down through Jacob’s ladder to make a circuit with different ascent/descent.
Overflow Parking by Edale station is £5 all day and takes cash only but you can get cash back at the Cafe by the station which is highly recommended for a brew and toilet stop on the way up and down.
The walk itself isn’t easy and there can be parts of deep mud and a bit of scrambling when wet.
Lovely views in all directions and well worth the effort!
Amazing views for the whole walk, we walked in from Hayfield it's a tough hike up, so you need a certain amount of fitness and good walking shoes. It's quite a popular spot, so be prepared for seeing lots of other walkers.
Was lucky the weather was in my favour as the views were amazing. Can be a little challenging in some parts depending on the route you take, but overall not a difficult mountain to climb. Parked on the snake pass which is free but couldn't get an Internet signal so be warned. Well worth a visit in my book.
First time hiking with snow on kinder scout not best views around with the clouds but knowing I did it all what matters... scrambling up William clough was amazing as well
Lovely area and fantastic walk, parked in a small nearby village and travelled up via grindslow knoll and the woolpack which is a greatly scenic part of the peak district. Very wet and windy due to the time of year but fine if dressed properly. Make sure you have waterproof boots as there is some water to cross and peat bogs to navigate.
Great short walk circuit from edale. Between 4 and 16 miles, make the wall as long as you need.
Many ww2 aircrash wrecks still visible today. Remember aircrews died at these sites so please be respectful of this.
Great views of derwent Valley, hope Valley and also hayfield Valley. Depending what side of kinder scout your on. Many paths aswel as part of the pennine way! It can cater for scrambling, Wild swimming, walking or just having a picnic with family. In bad weather I'd only wonder onto the tops if your familiar with it and know where your going, lots of places to go wrong in poor visibility but amazing views on a good day.
